Debate over complaints against councillors

AN ARTICLE in Friday's SBT, July 4, associated comments made by councillor Damien Tessmann regarding complaints against councillors with a discussion about the number and type of general complaints received by the council.

This was incorrect as the comments made by Cr Tessmann specifically related to serious complaints, those against councillor conduct.

Cr Tessmann said the council should consider not accepting verbal complaints made against councillors.

The council currently accepts complaints and requests for service via the customer service centre, and will continue to do so.
