Dog found killed, scalped and hanging off street sign

WILD dogs are undeniably a major problem for regional Queensland.

But is this inhumane display of the dead, scalped body necessary?

Two women from Murgon, Angela Marshall and Sharon Jack, certainly didn't think so.

In fact, they felt sick their stomach when they drove past this dead wild dog on the Burrandowan Rd this afternoon.

"I just wanted to vomit," Ms Jack said.

Ms Marshall said she was horrified and speculated as to whether the dog was alive when its scalp was removed because its eyes were still open.

"They obviously did it for fun or even just something to do.

"It's psychopathic behaviour really."

Wild dogs have been responsible for vicious and unnecessary attacks on livestock and domestic pets, tearing muzzles, ears and tails from cattle and killing large numbers of sheep.

While neither of these women are opposed to culling wild dogs, they sternly objected to this barbaric display - along a route the school bus takes to drop children home.

"That's not something kids need to see," Ms Jack said.
