Kumbia man killed in farming accident

A 70-YEAR-OLD man has died this morning at Kumbia in a farming accident.

Kingaroy Police Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said the man was working on his trailer in the early hours of the morning when the tragedy occurred.

"The trailer was partially suspended from the ground by means of a jack and blocks," Sgt Frank said.

He said it appeared the jack and blocks moved, causing the trailer to fall on the man.

"As a result of being struck by the trailer he died at the scene," he said.

The man was discovered by a family member and police were called early in the morning.

"It appears to be a tragic and unfortunate farming accident," he said.

A police investigation report will be completed and reviewed by the coroner.

Sgt Frank said police sympathies went out to the family and friends of the man.
