SOUTH Burnett Regional Council's Jim Dunn said the couple on board were flying from Caboolture to Biggenden when they "started noticing smoke about ten miles out of Kingaroy and landed as a precaution".
Sgt Brad Johannesen said the source of the smoke was not yet known and engineers were working on the plane to determine the cause.
A LIGHT aircraft was forced to land at Kingaroy Airport this morning after smoke started filling the cabin.
The plane landed safely and a man and woman on board had no reported injuries.
Kingaroy Police Sergeant Brad Johannesen said police officers, fire fighters and ambulance paramedics attended the scene but were not needed.
"Luckily nothing serious happened," he said.
"The plane didn't catch fire, there was just smoke in the cabin so they have landed to see what the problem was.
"They landed safe and well."
