DALBY police have been out in force this month as a part of Queensland Police's state-wide Operation Q-Blitz.

The blitz is targeting traffic infringements and has been running for the month of November.

As a part of Operation Q-Blitz, Dalby police are carrying out Operation Gim Crack and officer in charge at the Dalby Police Station Senior Sergeant Terry McCullough said so far the results had been good.

The traffic blitz is being undertaken by both the traffic branch and the general policing branch of the Dalby Police Station.

Mr McCullough said while there had not been an excessive number of people caught during the blitz, they had still nabbed many people doing the wrong thing.

"If you target speeding and drink driving you are always going to catch people," he said.

"We've been targeting speeding through the town and on the highway."

Snr Sgt McCullough said the police on the beat have been using a targeted approach when it came to Operation Gim Crack.

"We've been focusing on known hot spots in the town," he said.

"So if that's outside a pub at 2am, that's where we'll target. That's a policy of this policing district."

While generally there is a noticeable increase in policing pressure across Queensland, Snr Sgt McCullough said due to the smaller size of this district, the numbers of officers on patrol wouldn't be noticeably higher.

"But there'll certainly be more out and about," he said.

As well as Operation Gim Crack, six Dalby officers are currently in training to be able to use the mobile radar device.

The mobile radar device is mounted on the dash board of the police vehicle and is able to detect speeds of the cars coming in the opposite direction.

"By the end of the week there will be six more officers who will be trained to use this machine," he said.

"That will bring the total number of officers in the Dalby station to 16."
