Winners named in Pet of the Year competition
IN ONE of our most popular Facebook callouts ever, we asked you to post photos of your animals for our South Burnett Pet of the Year poll.
There were more than 150 entrants.
We then asked our readers to vote for their favourite online.
Here are the top 10 pets as voted by you, but with so many cool, fun, crazy and loving pets out there, they are all winners in our eyes.
WINNERS
1. Golden retriever Rory with cocker spaniel Sampson. Both are now grown up but are still close.
2. Nikki Stolzenberg's dog Hunter. He is seven and loves to dress up.
3. Kirrily Street and Clarence Rolley's pup Storm. The three-month-old learnt to sit and shake in two days, and is becoming smarter every day.
4. Sharny Hetherington's eight-month-old kelpie Mack.
5. This is Iddy, previously known as Flint. He came into Animal Angels Rescue's care at just a few days old after the rest of his kitty family went through a piece of machinery. He used to have seizures and be unconscious for 10 or more hours a day. He's just over a year old and completely different from any other
6. This is Skye West's special kitty, Bundles. She is almost 11 and has always been a little different. She always leaves her tongue hanging out. She sleeps in funny places (like her litter tray). She has been known to eat some funny foods like mango, pickles and lettuce, and she snores. She's strange but loveable.
7. Kellie Walker: This is four-year-old Windsor, who loves to join in no matter what's going on, especially at little girls' birthday parties.
8. Colin was given to Brianna Kuck. He was her little sidekick until he died three weeks ago from a brown snake bite.
9. Amy Lee Mind: This is Leroy. He is four and is in love with all animals. He also loves to stop at every kid for a pat on his morning walks.
10. Chocolate labrador Elley when she was about eight weeks old.
