2020 VISION: New ideas being cooked up a Batter N Crumbz

ESTABLISHING a business can be difficult, but that never stopped Rhys Ashlin from trying.

Since opening Batter N Crumbz in September, he's officially ending his first calendar year in business.

"We've gotten a lot of great support from the community, and it gives me such a good feeling to see the same faces return," Mr Ashlin said.

He said on a Friday night it was common for him to see "half the town" in store.

"It shows it's a good market. Seeing my regular customers and getting positive feedback feels like an achievement every time," he said.

While Mr Ashlin has had a great few months, he is already planning changes as he approaches 2020.

"We want more of an outdoor area to make it more kid-friendly," he said.

"We're in the process of looking at what we can do."

Mr Ashlin said he was also looking at doing deliveries, as well as continuing on with the app Skip.

"We're one of the only small businesses with an app," he said.

"You just have to search Batter and Crumbz on Skip and it'll help make things much more convenient for you."

Mr Ashlin said the app was particularly helpful for people who worked in the morning as they could order coffee at home on the app, and it would be ready when they arrived at the store.

"It's also a good idea to use the app on busy periods like Friday night, so that your meals are ready to grab when you step indoors," he said.
