22-year-old charged for shining laser at PolAir 2

POLICE have charged a 22-year-old man after allegedly targeting a police helicopter with a laser light at Archerfield today.

It will be alleged around 12.30am the helicopter was attempting to land when a light was shone directly at cabin crew of PolAir 2.

Police tracked a vehicle to a nearby service station on Boundary Road and arrested the alleged offender.

A 22-year-old Slacks Creek man was charged with one count of threatening the safety of an aircraft, common assault and possessing a restricted item. He is due to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on June 16.
