30m high Norfolk pine crashes down in storm
A HUGE 30-metre high Norfolk pine tree came crashing down in this afternoon’s severe storms, somehow missing residents and the adjacent Alex Surf Club.
General manager Ashley Robinson said the huge tree only made a slight dint in the guard rail however another pine is at risk of falling.
“It’s fallen towards the beach behind the lifeguard tower, missed everything,” Mr Robinson said.
“My car got hammered at Wurtulla, we got a battering with cricket-ball sized hail.”
Elsewhere the roof of Curriumundi Woolworths has collapsed, while other trees are down across the Coast.
