UPDATE, 1:25PM : Queensland Police have located the body of missing 82-year-old Malcolm Wignall. 

Emergency services are currently gathered at Currimundi Beach where the body of the missing man was found.

Police have advised that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Wignall's death.

EARLIER:  Surf Lifesaving Queensland have confirmed they are assisting in the search for missing man Malcolm Wignall.

Police and emergency services are combing Dicky Beach in an attempt to find the 82-year-old man, who was last seen in Dicky Beach at about 8pm last night.

 "We were just tasked by Queensland Police and they've asked that we can have a lookout on the beaches for an elderly male,"  SLSQ duty officer David McLean said.

"They've asked for lifeguards keep an eye out along those beaches. "

We instigated them to start searching after the call came through at 6.30am."

EARLIER: AN ELDERLY man has disappeared from a Sunshine Coast suburb last night.

Police are looking to the public to help find the missing man, who has recently moved to the Coast and is unfamiliar with the area.

Malcolm Wignall, 82, was last seen at a family residence in Dicky Beach last night about 9pm.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 173 cm high, thin build with white hair and blue eyes.

He may be wearing light blue pyjamas.

Police urge anyone who has seen him to contact police link on 131444.
