Hockey veteran Russel Ford retires after 158 appearances


RUSSEL Ford, a bronze medallist for Australia at the 2012 Olympics, has retired after 158 appearances.

The 31-year-old scored 72 goals, including one in the 2-1 victory over the Netherlands in the final of the 2012 Champions Trophy.

Ford led the Kookaburras goal-scoring in 2012 and 2013.
