A MAN who wandered the streets of Kingaroy with a large hunt

A MAN who wandered the streets of Kingaroy with a large hunting knife stuffed down the front of his shorts on Monday was charged with possessing a knife in a public place without a reasonable excuse.

Police searched the 28-year-old Kingaroy man outside the newsagency on Haly St at noon after members of the public reported him.

Police will allege he initially said he did not have a knife but after they searched him and found the 30cm hunting blade he said he needed it for protection.
