ST JOHN'S Lutheran College Colour Fun Run saw over 250 kids covered in rainbow dye playing on the school oval.

Students, parents, staff, and volunteers gathered at the school for an afternoon of fun and to raise funds for the St John's Parents and Friends committee.

St John's Parents and Friends committee president Jacqui Trace said it was a lovely afternoon full of fun.

"All of the kids, staff, and parents enjoyed themselves," she said.

"We had the obstacle course up first and then the fun run with the dye.

"Through this event we raised money for what the students have been campaigning to bring to the school.

"They're hoping we raised enough for a new footy posts and soccer nets."

The St John's Parents and Friends committee first put together this event last year, however this year was the first time they had an inflatable.

"We thought it would be a good way of getting more kids involved," Ms Trace said.

"But of course we couldn't get the coloured dye on the inflatables.

"So we had that obstacle course first and then the fun run."

Ms Trace said St John's was focused on encouraging their students to get involved and to fundraise for the change they wanted to see at the school.

"We want them to become more involved in these kinds of activities and fundraisers," she said.

"We get them to fill out submission forms of what they would like to see us spend money on at the school.

"So far it's working well and we had a huge turn out at the event."
