LITTLE has been revealed about the My Kitchen Rules competition next year but the Daily Mercury can confirm two contestants grew up in Mackay.

Queensland contestants, dubbed the "Miner Diners", Alex and Gareth, who fly in and out to the mines, used to reside in Mackay but now live on the Sunshine Coast.

Rumours circled in July that we may have our very own MKR team in the cooking show when judges Manu Feildel and Pete Evans were seen in Mackay.

A MKR crew was spotted cooking woodfired pizzas at a popular beach spot and also seen in Coles at Caneland Central in July.

Couples were also spotted walking up a driveway in Rural View, a la "MKR instant restaurant" style about the same time.

A new yet-to-be-revealed female judge is also set to join the show in 2016.

Channel 7 has released a teaser video for the show next year.
