
Accused child predator refused bail after bus stop approach
AN ACCUSED child predator who tried to lure a school boy into his car in north-western NSW has been refused bail.
The 59-year-old West Australian man allegedly approached a 12-year-old boy while he was waiting for a his school bus on the side of the Newell Hwy, outside of Coonabarabran last week.
The boy told police he managed to protect himself with a stick before getting on the bus and telling the driver.
The driver then followed the car and gave details to police who later arrested the man.
He was charged with intimidation and three counts of possess restricted substance and will be back before the Moree Court on February 24.
