Alleged druggie 'chopped up dealer'
AN ACCUSED druggie, who allegedly choked his female dealer with a rope, dunked her head in water and sexually assaulted her corpse before sawing it into pieces, has pleaded not guilty.
Robert Thomas Best fronted a Sydney jury on Wednesday for day one of what is expected to be a drawn out murder trial.
Police allege Best, 48, carried out a sickening attack on his ice dealer Kristi McDougall in June, 2010 because she refused to supply drugs without payment.
Afterwards, he allegedly used a hack saw to dismember Ms McDougall's body, most of which has never been found.
According to the Herald Mr Best's girlfriend, who was allegedly home at the time of the killing, will be the key witness.
The trial will continue on Thursday.
