Ants' winning form continues

RUGBY LEAGUE: Kingaroy continued their strong start to the season against the Mustangs on Saturday.

The Red Ants opened their account with three minutes on the clock and the strong start set the team up to win the game 38 points to 16.

Coach of the Kingaroy side, Darren Geiger was proud of his teams performance.

"We are really happy, we are undefeated so far this season and it is great,” he said.

Kingaroy were down key players on Saturday and will be looking to work on their attack in the coming weeks.

"We focused on making sure we got through and we were strong in defence,” Geiger said.

Coach of the Mustangs Paul Brunjes put the teams loss down to low numbers at training.

"Their effort was outstanding but with no training under our belt it won't happen,” he said.

"We are consistently getting 10 and 11 at training and you can't work on things as a team with that many.”

"We need to work on ball work in our attack but everything starts with defence.”

In the other game of the weekend Nanango defeated Wondai 94 points to 10.
