Approval for new medical centre in Kingaroy

SHOPFRONTS in the centre of Kingaroy that have been vacant for years will be the location of a new medical centre.

In Wednesday's council meeting approval was given for a medical centre at 183 - 189 Haly St.

Deputy Mayor Keith Campbell said the development application to change the zoning to allow the medical centre was strongly supported by the council.

"It went through seven votes to nil," Cr Campbell said.

He said the centre will have doctors and dentists and could potentially have a pharmacy and physio as well.

"This is very good news," he said.
