Archbishop to visit region for the first time since 2010
THE Anglican Archbishop of Brisbane is coming to Kingaroy for the first time in eight years.
Reverend Dr Phillip Aspinall will be in town to conduct a Service of Holy Communion at the All Angels Church at 9am this Sunday.
Bishop for the Western Region, Cameron Venables, said it would be an honour to host Archbishop Aspinall during the lead-up to Christmas celebrations.
"The Archbishop endeavours to regularly visit parishes in each of the three regions of the diocese, and it will be a great encouragement to the Parish of Kingaroy to have him visit on the 9th of December,” Bishop Venables said.
Dr Aspinall's last visit was in 2010 for the centenary celebrations of the Kingaroy church.
To take advantage of the rare opportunity to meet the Archbishop, all are invited to attend both the service and the bring-and-share brunch afterwards.
"I encourage Anglicans in the South Burnett region to take this opportunity to share in worship, and meet with the Archbishop over refreshments,” Bishop Venables said.
