Armed man subdued by residents after breaking into home

A MAN has been charged following an attempted robbery that occurred overnight in Corinda.

Shortly before 8pm, a man entered a residence on Spencer Street in Corinda armed with a knife.

It will be alleged that the man threatened the residents in the house before demanding keys to a vehicle.

Residents of the house and neighbors then became involved in a physical altercation with the man and he was detained until police arrived.

The man was taken into custody and was treated at the Princess Alexandra Hospital for a minor injury to his forehead.

A 19-year-old Bundamba man has been charged with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, enter dwelling with intent whilst armed, attempted robbery and willful damage.

He is due to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on November 30.
