Arrests made following Murgon home invasion

POLICE have charged three people with a number of offences following investigations into alleged break and enters that occurred across Murgon, Tiaro and Eli Waters on June 3 and 4.

Police will allege a 16-year-old boy and two men aged 18 and 19 threatened a woman with a tomahawk before stealing her car at around 8pm on June 3, at an address on Perkins St, Murgon.

Police will further allege around 2.30am, on June 4, the vehicle was driven to a hotel at Tiaro where a window was smashed and multiple cartons of alcohol were stolen from the premises.

Following the incident in Tiaro, it will be alleged the trio broke into multiple cars across Eli Waters including a vehicle at Spoonbill Way where a man was threatened with a knife.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with eight counts of break and enter, eight counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, six counts of unlicensed driving, three counts of stealing, three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of failing to stop and one count each of receiving tainted property, assault occasioning bodily harm and burglary.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with eight counts of break and enter, four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of stealing and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An 18-year-old man has been charged with three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of stealing and one count each of armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm and unlicensed driving.

The two adults are due to face Murgon Magistrates Court today.
