Aspiring cricketers ready to represent Burnett
CRICKET: The region's up and coming cricketing talent will give it their all when they play representative games for the South Burnett this summer.
On Saturday Murgon hosted a trial game to select the South Burnett under-12 side for the 2018/19 season.
Coach of the side, Ashley Hankinson, was impressed by the level of cricket on display at the trial and is excited for the the team can achieve.
"There were some very good players, older ones that have been in and new ones coming through and showing potential,” he said.
"There are a couple of young girls who could go on to play a lot further if they keep at it.”
Hankinson selected players he believes are ready for the next level of competition and will give it their all for their team.
The team will have their first trial game on Sunday, December 2 against Hervey Bay as the two teams prepare for the Wide Bay championships in February 2019.
The South Burnett side will come up against Gympie, North Burnett and Bundaberg in the T20 competition.
