Avo go at family games at iconic food festival
BLACKBUTT'S iconic food festival takes the trend of the avo on toast to a whole new level.
Head to the Blackbutt Showgrounds to Avo Central on Saturday to be inspired by what you can truly do with the humble avocado.
The Blackbutt Avocado Festival will have be cooking demonstrations with South Burnett food ambassador Jason Ford and stalls with South Burnett farmers so you can access local produce.
Taste test the many avocado-themed foods at the many stalls or take a sip of some Burnett wine in the Wine Alley.
Avocado fun does not stop with the food.
Competitions including the Avo Toss, Avo Roll and Avo Golf will test out your skills.
The Avo games are a big drawcard to the food festival with Avo Toss finals guaranteed to draw a crowd.
This year's festival will feature the first Avocado Drop Tombola at 2pm where three parachutists will jump from 4000 feet and land on an avocado target.
The Ken Mills Toyota Street Parade at 1pm will go through the main street and finish in the showgrounds.
Keep an eye out for the food festival's mascot Alvin the Avocado who will feature in the parade and be walking around the showgrounds.
There will be entertainment running all day, including trackless train rides and woodchopping demonstrations.
The Blackbutt Avocado Festival will begin at 8am and run until 5pm.
