B-grade cricket played in good spirit

CRICKET: Blackbutt Timbertowners defeated their hosts in good spirit in the B-grade match on Saturday.

Kingaroy's batsman Glen Kelly made 23 runs to the Services' total of 103 runs before the whole team were out off 30 overs.

Zach Ennis claimed three wickets for the Timbertowners, while Michael Marriot and J. Lewis claimed two wickets for the team.

Marriot contributed 58 runs, not out, and D Gillard close behind with 50 runs, not out, to the Timbertowner's victory of 111 runs off 12 overs.

Meanwhile, Matt Springate contributed to Nanango's victory against Cherbourg with 112 runs, not out.

Cherbourg's Tom Langton put up a good fight with 119 runs, not out, bringing the final score down to seven wickets difference between the two teams.

Nanango finished off the match with three wickets for 240 runs, whilst Cherbourg finished with five wickets for 230 runs.

Wondai Wolves hosted the Kumbia Rattlers in a game played with great sportsmanship.

The Wolves won the toss and elected to bat first, but the Rattlers won the game by eight wickets.

Bevan Fawcett started the Wolves' game strong, claiming the match's hat trick and the first three wickets of the match.

He top scored 51 runs for the home side.

Kumbia finished the match on top with 2 wickets for 113 runs off 16 overs, whilst Wondai had 10 wickets for 106 runs off 25.1 overs.

Finally, Murgon Diggers took out a quick victory against visitors Kallindale Warriors with one wicket for 119 runs off 20 overs.

Diggers batsmen Riley Sippel and Nick Sanewski both contributed 37 runs, not out.

Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first.

They scored eight wickets for 90 runs from 40 overs.

Warriors players Jeff Rose contributed 28 runs, B Simpson 13 runs, and Nik Heness nine runs, not out.

Andrew Roderick claimed four wickets for 11 runs from four overs, while Ryan Sommerfeld claimed two wickets for 17 runs off six overs for the visiting team.
