
BACONFEST: Five unforgettable moments from the weekend
THERE'S no doubt Kingaroy was the place to be at the weekend as thousands of people filled the streets for Kingaroy BaconFest 2019.
From Friday, August 23 until Sunday, August 25 residents and guests wandered through Glendon St to check out all of the attractions and devour bacon-themed food.
We have complied a list of the top five moments from the weekend dedicated to celebrating pork.
1. Bacon lovers attended Wine and Swine
The BaconFest 2019 weekend launched in style as festival-goers flaunted their best frocks and suit jackets at the Wine and Swine dinner.
Grazing tables offering everything from platters of pork crackling to pig-themed desserts were set up on the front lawn of the Kingaroy Town Hall for attendees to sample.

2. Rasher's Rush Run and Cycling event
On Saturday, August 24 baconeers dressed up in their best pig-inspired outfits to test out their athleticism on the South Burnett Rail Trail.
The event drew a lively crowd and participants made their way out and back along the well-loved rail trail.

3. Miss BaconFest Pin-Up Pageant
Confidence was in abundance as the pageant entrants showed off their best bacon-and-egg-inspired dresses.

4. Bacon-Eating Competition
Competitors lined their stomached with bacon in hopes of taking out the top spot at this year's eating competition.

5. Bacon-inspired olympics
Pig snorting as well as bacon and egg spoon races were just some of the events held at the BaconFest 2019 Olympics.
Teams united to test out their skills in pork-themed events and win prizes of bacon, of course!
