Ballantyne's Strawberries at Calen to close next month

POPULAR Calen business Ballantyne's Strawberries will close at the end of September.

The business posted this message on social media last night.

Earlier last month the Daily Mercury reported about 25% of the crops at Ballantyne's Strawberry Farm has been soiled due to wet weather. 

"The season started off really good, plants grew really well, and then it started raining," co-owner Margaret Ballantyne said at the time.
