Mullum rapper Iggy Azalea pulls out of Beyonce Sydney gigs
AFTER already announcing she would not be joining Beyonce on the New Zealand leg of her world tour, support act Iggy Azalea has also pulled out of most of Beyonce's Mrs Carter World Tour shows in Sydney.
The Mullumbimby-born artist, who announced on Twitter earlier this month she would be supporting Beyonce in Australia, will be replaced by another Far North Coast export, Stan Walker.
It was announced in a press release from one of Beyonce's promoters Live Nation Entertainment on Wednesday that Ms Azalea would not be joining Beyonce for many of her Sydney shows due to "an unforeseen international scheduling conflict".
Ms Azalea - whose real name is Amethyst Kelly - rose to stardom in the USA after she left Mullumbimby at the age of 15 to find fame in the international hip-hop world.
The only Sydney show she will perform with Beyonce will be at the Allphones Arena on November 3.Stan Walker will join the Single Ladies artist in all other Sydney shows on October 31 and November 1 and 2 before Ms Azalea rejoins the tour for the Adelaide and Perth legs.
Mr Walker, who is originally from the Northern Rivers, rose to stardom after winning Australian Idol in 2009.
The ex-Byron High student has since toured with Akon, Jay Sean, Ciara and Travie McCoy.
The Australian leg of the Mrs Carter World Tour will begin in Melbourne next week before heading to Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.
The tour has been touted as Beyonce's best show yet, incorporating special effects and a light show. AndBeyonce will partner with child protection charity, BarnardosAustralia when she is down under.
The #BeyGood campaign which will feature throughout the Australian leg of the tour encourages people to "be kind and charitable".
Each concert venue will have a mobile donation centre for fans to donate to the charity. Fans are also encouraged to bring clothing to the concerts to donate to Barnardos.
