Bindi brings Dancing with the Stars to Australia Zoo

FORGETTING the glitz and glamour of the dance floor, Bindi Irwin's partner on Dancing with the Stars has joined the jungle girl in Beerwah to meet some of her friends at Australia Zoo.

With Derek Hough, Bindi went from khaki-clad wildlife advocate to shimmering starlet as the pair won the United States version of Dancing with the Stars.

The two reunited in far more casual climes this week as Hough, 30, arrived in Queensland to spend some time with his former dance partner.

Bindi wrote on her Instagram:

"So happy to get to introduce you to our world here in Australia.
You are officially a Wildlife Warrior. Bring on the adventure!"

On Dancing with the Stars, Bindi referred to Derek as a "big brother" figure, and their affection shone through during their routines.

Since winning the show, Bindi has regularly posted updates on her social media showing appreciation for her friends and family.

A week ago, she also hinted at some of the pain she went through on the show. With a photo of her sharing a "wishbone" with boyfriend Chandler Powell, she wrote:

"Please pardon my feet in this picture, 3 months of dancing and they look a little interesting. I assure you they are getting better."
