Blackbutt golfers swing into 2019

PAUL Burgoyne has taken the first win for the new year on the Blackbutt Golf course.

Burgoyne finished on top with 69 nett at the veterans stroke on January 2 in a field of 19 players.

Jim Duff was the runner-up on 72 nett followed by John Boike on 73 nett.

Nearest the pin was Andy Box on 5-14 and 18 Rob Donnelly on 9-18.

Players returned to the course on January 6 for the club's three person ambrose which saw a field of 32 players competing for top honours

Barry Nugent, Ian Jones andJoan Nugent were the strongest trio on the day finishing on 58.5 nett.

Runner Up: Tony Green, Fay Green and Glen Bell were the runners up with 60.5 nett followed Paul, Slater and Lawson Green with 61and 1/6 nett.

The next event at the club will be a veterans stroke at 9am on Wednesday, January 9.

Fitzroy Hotel men's and women's monthly medal stroke will be contested on Sunday, January 13 with a time sheet start.
