BLACKBUTT motorists will soon be able to drive on a widened Crumpton Dr which connects Blackbutt to properties just north of the town.

South Burnett Regional Council announced on Thursday it would be starting road works next Monday, July 17.

"This will continue a long term program to progressively widen this road to a two lane standard,” a council spokesperson said.

"The project includes widening the bitumen seal to provide a two lane bitumen sealed pavement.”

The spokesperson said the works would also include clearing, earthworks, drainage, gravel pavement, bitumen sealing, line marking and signage.

"It is expected the work will be completed in September 2017,” they said.

"During construction, traffic shall be either controlled by Traffic controllers or by Traffic Lights with minor delays anticipated.

"We thank you for your patience.”

The spokesperson said any residents with concerns during the construction period should contact the on-site supervisor.

For all other enquiries, please phone Council's Customer Service Centres on 41899100.
