Colourful bras spark conversation in Gin Gin

BRAS adorning the walls may not be standard hospital procedure, but it's all in the name of a good cause in Gin Gin.

"Bling your Bra" is a competition at Gin Gin Hospital, giving a funding and awareness boost to breast and gynaecological cancer.

Gin Gin Hospital registered nurse Regina Gibson said the bras had certainly sparked conversation with the patients and visitors to the hospital.

Hospital staff, patients and the community had all worked on blinging their bras, with 28 bras now entered, she said.

"They're fabulous, they're very creative - people have put thought into the cancer side of things, it's great," Ms Gibson said.

The hospital run event was designed to coincide with Pink Ribbon Day on October 25.

Entries for Bling your Bra at the Gin Gin Hospital are $5 and close on October 14.

The winning bra will be determined by people's choice score, and the owner of the "best bedazzled bra" will win a $50 voucher from Dymocks.
