Blue Gum Farm set for Aussie television premiere
RURAL children's entertainer Cilla Pershouse normally never gets nervous when she's in front of a video camera.
She felt a new sense of anxiety however when she was interviewed for ABC's Landline about her show Blue Gum Farm TV.
Filmed on Mrs Pershouse's farm in Queensland, it follows the fascinating adventures of the Australian outback for children aged from 6 months to 5 years.
She travels to regional towns across Queensland, putting on fun filled concerts, as well as filming for her DVD and online series.
Prior to filming for Landline, Mrs Pershouse admits to having some "unfounded anxiety".
"When I film with Blue Gum Farm it's a performance, whereas when I'm being interviewed as me, it's real and it's a lot more exposing," Mrs Pershouse said.
"That being said, working with the ABC crew has been a super proud moment for me."
Broadcasting stories from rural towns across the nation, producer Courtney Wilson happened across Mrs Pershouse in September.
She was recently awarded the Queensland Rural Regional and Remote Women's Network Woman of the Year at their conference in Kingaroy.
After seeing Mrs Pershouse's achievements she quickly got into touch, with Landline filming her story over three sessions.
"It's been quite a process, as they've filmed parts of my recent tour, out on my farm, and then interviews with me and my family, my mother, and my husband.
"They go into lots of depth about where my inspiration comes from, background, why I created the series, what my goals are, and more."
Mrs Pershouse has recently wrapped up a tour of regional Queensland near Toowoomba, showcasing her live performance to several small towns.
"The amount of audience numbers in comparison to their engagement and participating was off the charts.
"We were just so well received, and it's exciting to see how engaged the kids during the dancing and singing moments, it's been terrific."
Her story is set to be aired before the end of November on the ABC, with her exciting new DVD series ready to be launched in the first week of December.
