Boy airlifted after bike collision

A BOY was airlifted to Brisbane on Sunday after a bike he was riding collided with his brothers.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted the 12-year-old boy after the trail bike collision on a private property near Kingaroy this morning.

The two brothers were both riding trail bikes when they collided head-on, causing suspected head and limb injuries to one of the brothers.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter met with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics at the Kingaroy Hospital helipad to airlift the boy to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital.

He was airlifted in a stable condition and was accompanied by his mother.

The boy was wearing a helmet which helped to reduce the extent of his injuries.

Also on Sunday morning, the Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted a 28-year-old man who had fallen from his horse on a property outside Mundubbera.

He suffered suspected neck and spinal injuries and was flown to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition.
