BREAKING: Tony Abbott to visit Cherbourg
FORMER Prime Minister Tony Abbott will visit the indigenous town of Cherbourg this week.
On Thursday November 15, the Hon Tony Abbott MP, who was named envoy on indigenous affairs this year, will meet with various Cherbourg organisations including the Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council.
The council's corporate services manager, Chatur Zala, said they were looking forward to the visit from the former Prime Minister.
"We will very much welcome Mr Abbott to the council office,” he said.
During his Cherbourg visit, Mr Abbott will visit the Cherbourg State School and meet with the principal as well as a tour of the Ration Shed.
Mr Abbott will enjoy morning tea with students at the state school during his visit.
Mr Abbott's office has been contacted for comment.
