Briscoe in the hot seat
WINNING pole in the Indianapolis 500 may prove to be the easiest part of the equation for Sydneysider Ryan Briscoe.
The 30-year-old has taken pole 10 times previously in his eight-year IndyCar career, winning twice, the last time at Firestone in 2010.
To win at Indianapolis this morning (Australian time), he will have to hold off the likes of Ryan Hunter-Reay, James Hinchcliffe, Marco Andretti, Helio Castroneves and fellow Aussie Will Power.
