Brunjes tons up for South Burnett u19s

LEHMAN Brunjes scored the first ever century in South Burnett u19 cricket history against Bundaberg this morning.

The Murgon batsman finished his innings on 114 not out after batting for three hours.

Brunjes put on a 126 run partnership with Peter Hourn to help South Burnett to a total of 6/242.

Coach Dave Hartwig said Brunjes effort was the first time a South Burnett u19 player had ever scored a century.

"He's in really good form, his aggregate is 303 runs."

Hartwig said he was confident the team could finish off Bundaberg.

"It's a good total and we've got a really strong bowling attack."

Opening fast bowler Matt Patroni got the home team off to a flyer at Kingaroy's Lyle Vidler Oval, taking a wicket in his first over.
