Building approvals fall in Qld, NSW
BUILDING approvals fell 8.7% in April, according to figure released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
But Queensland is keeping fairly steady with declines in residential approvals falling just 2.7%, while approvals in New South Wales fell 15.3%.
Housing Industry Association chief economist Harley Dale said Australian Bureau of Statistic figures for April showed total seasonally adjusted residential approvals fell 46.7% in Western Australia, and 27.8% in South Australia.
Approvals in Victoria were healthiest, with a 13% increase, while Tasmanian approvals rose 9.2%.
