Burnett riders bring home medal haul

MTB: South Burnett mountain bike riders have represented the region with pride and proved they are among the best in the country bringing home a haul of medals from the mountain bike Australian national school championships.

Kingaroy State High School students Ben Weier, Jacob Provan and Jacob Slatter teamed up to win gold medals in the Year 9 and 10 relay event ahead of 24 teams from across the country.

Laca Turton joined forces with two fellow Queensland riders to earn gold in the Year 9 and 10 girls relay event.

Kingaroy's Dylan Provan and Matthew Weier from St John's Lutheran School teamed up with a student from Corinda State School to win silver in the Year 7 and 8 boy's event contested by 18 teams.

The national championships were raced at Nerang on the Gold Coast on August 3-5 2018 and the students were presented with their medals at school.
