Burnett team excels at state titles

A SOUTH Burnett Association Wondai indoor bowls team turned in great performances at last weekend's state titles at Pittsworth.

The tournament, which ran over three days, saw Val Klein, Faye Holding and Vince Lakin win all their preliminary games in the triples title, culminating in being runners-up in the prestige event.

Added to this tournament, Lakin then teamed with prominent bowler Don Smith to again be runner-up in the pairs championship.

The indoor year will end in the next few weeks with tournaments at Dalby, Gympie and Caloundra leading into the Christmas break-up functions.
