Caravans lost in Cooyar bushfire

UPDATE, 6PM: A SHIPPING container and three caravans have been lost in the Cooyar bushfire

The structures were all unoccupied and there is currently no threat to further properties or structures at this stage.

Currently, as at 5.40pm, Sunday 19 August, a bushfire is travelling in a north-easterly direction from Fitzgerald Road toward the New England Highway, Logyard Road and East Cooyar Road.

The fire is burning in inaccessible territory and firefighters are on scene working to contain the blaze.

EARLIER, 2.15PM: A BUSHFIRE has broken out in Cooyar.

You need to keep up to date and decide what actions you will take if the situation changes.

Currently as at 2.15pm Sunday 19 August, a bushfire is travelling in a north-easterly direction from Dukes Road and the New England Highway towards Fitzgerald Road, East Cooyar Road, Garskes Road at Cooyar.

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.

Firefighters are on scene working to contain the blaze.

Properties are not under direct threat at this time. Call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you believe you or your property is under threat.
