Calling performers to audition for show
THE South Burnett Musical Comedy Society are on the hunt for the stars of their new production.
The group are holding auditions for your chance to perform in their adaptation of Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
The production will hit the stage in Kingaroy across two weekends from Friday October 12, 2018 and will then entertain the folk of Toowoomba at the Empire Theatre on Saturday, October 27.
Those who have a flair for singing, dancing and acting are encouraged to attend auditions to be held today, tomorrow and Sunday in Kingaroy.
Director of the play Brad Boynton said it was a great opportunity for the people of the South Burnett to get involved and display their talents.
"We are looking for everyone who can dance, act, sing and everything in between, and even if you think you can't do any of the three," he said.
"We have found so much talent in people who say they can't do any of the three."
All cast and crew positions need to be filled, with kids, men and women of all ages and abilities welcome to audition.
"If there is something you are interested in, come along and we will see what skills you have and try and find a position," Boynton said.
Boynton is looking forward to stepping into the director's role again.
"It is another opportunity to learn some more and try and share my skills and experience with others," he said.
Boynton proposed Beauty and the Beast to the committee and is excited to be involved behind the scenes, having performed as Gaston 11 years ago at the Empire Theatre.
He is excited that the South Burnett Musical Comedy Society will have the chance to entertain a crowd of up to 1500 for the first time.
"I had an absolute hoot and it was a beautiful memory and something I want to do again," he said.
"We have the opportunity , for the first time in the society's history, to take a show to the Empire Theatre and it will be good for people to expose their talents and is a good launching pad for talents and careers."
