A CQ Capras player who tried to fight a security guard at the Zodiac Nightclub has been fined $800, with the Rockhampton Magistrate's Court hearing the 20-year-old "lost control" after a bouncer knocked his friend unconscious.

Chanel Seigafo was part of a group of football players who were evicted from the Zodiac around 3.15am on February 21.

One of the men tried to resist being evicted, which led to him being struck and knocked to the ground.

Police prosecutor Senior Sergeant Manon Barwick said Seigafo demanded to know who hit his companion, who was unconscious.

"He went back to the nightclub in an attempt to fight staff," she said.

Police on the scene told Seigafo to stay away, but he brushed past them to try and fight the bouncer.

When he was arrested it took two police officer and a nightclub security guard to get him in the police car as he struggled.

Ms Barwick said once he was in the car he was remorseful and cooperative, and said he lost control.

Seigafo, who has no previous criminal history, pleaded guilty to public nuisance and obstructing police.

No conviction was recorded.
