Car collides with truck on Bruce Hwy north of Mackay

A CAR on the Bruce Highway has allegedly crossed into the wrong lane and collided with a truck coming in the opposite direction.

Police say the collision happened at 4:50pm Saturday afternoon near Gumlu north of Mackay.

The 25-year-old driver and sole occupant of the car has been flown to Townsville Hospital with a severe arm injury. 

The 52-year-old truck driver was not physically injured. 

The Forensic Crash Unit has been called in.
