Celebrating 25 years of Brain Drain trivia nights

TICKETS are selling fast for Kumbia State School's P&C Brain Drain fundraiser.

P&C president Kate Curtain said Brain Drain of 2018 was not to be missed and encouraged participants to get their Aussie gear together for the night.

The event, themed 'Straya -1993 to 2018, Celebrating 25 Years of the Kumbia Brain Drain,' will be held in the Kumbia Memorial Town Hall on Saturday August 4.

"We're pretty excited. We've already had a tremendous response from sponsors with a great commitment of goods and services to be raffled,” Mrs Curtain said.

For the first time all of the table bookings were exclusively online via the 'Try Booking' website.

The shift to online ticketing was popular, with a rapid uptake since the tables were released, she said.

"We've improved the format of the night in response to feedback, and this year could well be our best Brain Drain yet,” Mrs Curtain said.

All proceeds raised from the Kumbia Brain Drain will be used to fund projects and events for the students of Kumbia State School.

The popular trivia night attended by guests from all over the South Burnett is the P&C's major fundraiser of the year.

The event would be BYO Esky and snacks, however a light meal would be provided and soft drinks would be available at the bar, she said.

Tea and coffee would also be provided on the night.

A return bus will run from Kingaroy, courtesy of Peter and Julie Chapman.

There were still a few corporate tables and a number of standard tables still available, since tickets were released.

Ticket prices start at $120 per table, or $240 for a corporate table, and participants must be aged 15 years and over.

Each team will consist of six players and there would be many prizes to be won, including best dressed team, best team name, cash prizes each round, a lucky door prize and the overall winners.
