CHERBOURG firefighters responded to two separate grass fires overnight.

A fire broke out near Cherbourg Tafe and crews responded at about 7pm.

Firefighters dealt with the fire and conducted back burning to keep the area safe.

Shortly afterwards, another fire broke out nearby, on the corner of Fisher and Marshall streets.

Crews were nearby at the Tafe and responded quickly.
