Boost Rocky economy by spending $100 at local business
IF EVERY adult in Rockhampton spent $100 at a local business this Christmas, the economy would be $1 million richer.
That's the advise of Peter Fraser, the Capricornia Chamber of Commerce president and Westpac Bank manager.
Mr Fraser supported Capricornia MP Michelle Landry's push for people to shop locally.

He said keeping Christmas shopping within Rockhampton was an easy way to make a difference to the city's economy.
"I hear a lot of people bemoaning the fact we've got vacant shop fronts and how the CBD looks tired," Mr Fraser said.
"This is the point where we can draw a line in the sand and ... get out there, support the local businesses, encourage them to set up and encourage the existing businesses to grow."
Ms Landry's push to get people shopping at small businesses was part of her new 'I Love Capricornia' campaign.
The campaign began with a photo competition, where locals were asked to capture what they loved most about living in the region.
Six winning shots featured on Ms Landry's annual Christmas cards.
"We wanted to talk up our region in a positive way and get people talking with pride about places they love and why they love living here," Ms Landry said.
"We have some great things in Capricornia that are worth crowing about."
