Christmas entertainment at the Bunya Nut Cafe

THE Bunya Nut Cafe is hosting a Christmas shindig to celebrate attaining an entertainment license.

Starting this Saturday, December 22, at 5pm, Evelyn Green plans to host a night to remember.

"I'll be putting on free nibblies for the customers as a little thank you from the Bunya Nut Cafe family,” she said.

"We're asking all of our customers, friends and family in the area, to come down and have a Christmas drink, something to eat, have a good time and celebrate with us to have an entertainment license back on track.

"We are having Matthew Wild, who is a local boy who sings and writes his own music, and he's going to come down and entertain us.

"We have Santa arriving at 6pm for the kids.”

The license provides cause for celebration as attaining it has proved to be a tough journey.

"Over the last six months, we've had a bit of a struggle trying to get our entertainment license amended due to someone being not happy with what we were doing down at the shop,” Ms Green said.

"Because of this, we had to go through all of the channels to get the entertainment license sorted out so that we could have somebody singing in our garden area, and our timber deck area as well.”

According to Ms Green, it's a free event to celebrate and thank the customers for their patronage.

"It's a great opportunity for us to say a big thank you and merry Christmas to everyone who attends,” she said.

"We're wanting to start off the new year well, and we're wanting to do more live entertainment every month.

"We just want people to come and see what we've got.

"It's been a struggle for the last six months to get this sorted out with licenses, and it's happened and we're really super excited as to what the Scrubby Creek Bar is going to bring within the new year.”
