THE Turnbull government's move to strip dual nationals of their Australian citizenship if convicted of terrorism offences is set to pass the Senate on Tuesday night with the support of the Labor party.
Independent senator Nick Xenophon and Greens leader Richard Di Natale said the bill would allow terrorists to roam free outside of Australia rather than be held in custody.
Other crossbenchers voiced concerns this week that the government did not give them enough time to consider the bill.
Attorney-General George Brandis said the new laws were needed to "keep us safe".
