Cleaner busted stealing money from own police station
CLEANER in northern New South Wales has allegedly been busted stealing from the most unlikely of places - the local police station.
Officers at the Coffs Harbour station became suspicious when cash was stolen on numerous occasions from the same spot earlier this month.
A 59-year-old male cleaner was arrested at the station last Friday and charged with stealing property as a clerk/servant (less than $2000).
A spokeswoman for NSW Police could not confirm where the cash was stolen from or its intended use.
The cleaner will front court on Monday, March 17.
