More than $3000 raised for family of crash victim
UPDATE: More than $3000 has been raised for the family of Andrew Cole, who was tragically killed in a car crash on Saturday morning.
EARLIER: MURGON Mustangs will hold a barbecue on Tuesday in commemoration of one of their coaches.
The afternoon will remember the club's under-14 coach Andrew Cole who tragically died in a car crash over the weekend.
The club will also host a Queensland Rugby League 'State of Mind' session for the U14 team from 4.30pm before the open house and barbecue.
Club members and family are invited to attend the barbecue after the session from 5.30pm at the Murgon Showgrounds to gather and show their support.
Friends of the family have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for Mr Cole's wife Melissa and their three children.
Melissa Lurton has already had a hard journey through life, battling Huntington's Disease and also losing her two brothers, and her father through the years to the disease.
The crash occurred on Saturday morning March 17 along the Burnett Highway, near the Murgon Gayndah Road.
The 34-year-old Kingaroy man died at the scene of the crash and his son was treated by paramedics who were able to stabilise the boy.
The 12-year-old was transported to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital
The other driver involved in the crash was transported to Bundaberg Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
